How I work
I offer one-to-one counselling for individuals aged 16 and over. Sessions can be 50,60,75 or 90 miniutes long, whatever works for you.
My approach is integrative, based on person-centred and psychodynamic theory, incorporating somatic ways of working. I view you as the expert on your own life, with my role being to provide you with the right conditions — empathy, acceptance, genuine connection and information to help you understand whats going on for you — and trusting that you'll naturally move towards growth and healing within that setting.
In our sessions, I’ll offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever feels important to you. That might be a specific issue, a feeling of being stuck, or a general sense of not feeling like yourself. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you, and you’ll be supported in sharing things when you feel ready.
Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, I’ll support you in making sense of your experiences, your emotions, your felt sense and what matters most to you. Sometimes this involves looking back to understand patterns that began earlier in life. Other times, it’s about staying with the present moment, learning how to respond to your needs with care and compassion.
Our work together may be short-term or longer-term — depending on what you feel you want and need.
Therapy can be a place to untangle thoughts, explore identity, process loss, or begin making changes that feel aligned with your values.
Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself, to be heard, and to feel met with understanding.
I work during the daytimes and evenings and offer a variety of ways we can meet, so you can choose what suits your lifestyle, availability and communication style best. Find out more about the various ways we can meet below.
